We are a small stud located in Havelock North, Hawkes Bay in New Zealand. We have idyllic surroundings in an area famous for its vineyards and orchards. With the towering Te Mata Peak close by and the Tuki Tuki River to our rear.
KS Show Horses is a very new stud run by the Cameron Family. By combining Riding Pony, Welsh and Thoroughbred bloodlines, we endeavor to produce quality ponies for the competitive show ring in both led and ridden disciplines. As New Zealand demands performance based ponies - our ponies will not only be beautiful, but also versatile. Heights range from 12.2 through to 14.2hh, although our focus will be on the larger ponies 13.2h -14.2h. Our plans for the future also include breeding Park Hacks.
Having shown in both New Zealand and at Royal Level in Australia we knew the 'type' of colt we were after and the bloodlines we preferred. One trip to Australia saw us buy our resident stallion 'Ascot Royal Signature'. He is an exciting edition to New Zealand Riding Pony breeding. Before heading to NZ, Royal Signature was shown for us by Ascot Stud. At barely 7 months old he was already a 'Supreme Champion' and was sashed 'Champion Riding Pony Colt' at the prestigious Victorian Foal Show in Australia.
We have gathered a small select band of broodmares from New Zealand and Australia. We have attempted to source bloodlines not as yet available or rare in New Zealand. We feel our strong band of imported Mares will add depth to our breeding program - with future trips to Australia planned for additions. However, with a full show team our breeding program will continue to be in someway's limited - this will ensure all foals bred at the stud will receive plenty of special attention and one on one training. All ponies sold by KS will be fully prepared for a career inhand or undersaddle.
